Kara Hamer designs her paintings digitally then executes them in the time honored brush and tube of paint method. Aside from the formal issues of her work, she also integrates traditional Japanese imagery. This diptych, “Three Cornered World”, is almost a re-imagining of the cross pollination of Japanese art to Matisse and back again. There really isn’t an end to the cross pollination, be it digital or physical, east or west.
