Jack Daws

Jack Daws is Seattle’s chief artist as troublemaker/provocateur. His work generally deals with identity as filtered through commerce or national identity as filtered through symbolic images such as flags. With his Confederate flag in the colors of the Ethiopian flag, he calls into question the similarities and differences that surround situations of constant civil war. One has to examine both the mindset and the symbolism as a hard question to crack.
