Muriel Bartol
Muriel Bartol is the associate curator for this show and is responsible for scouting out all of the young LA based artists who recently graduated from UCLA and Art Center. Her own work tends to be ephemeral and for The Best Coast her piece Hide and Go Seek did not disappoint. The piece, which resembled graffiti, paint spills and Chinese scroll painting all at once left many wondering, “Is this part of the show?” As a metaphor for art viewing as well as a physical reality this piece made use of the space, which was anything but neutral.
